Austrian Danube - Passau to Vienna

Freedom Holiday Self Guided Grading Level 1
8 days/7 nights Low Season £370pp High Season £420pp Tour Code AU009

Along the Blue Danube, you will find Europe’s most popular cycle path. This tour is ideal for the beginner cyclist and families as the route is very flat and there are few places where you meet any traffic. Follow the Danube as it wends its way across Austria through a magical landscape of vineyards, densely wooded hills, fertile fields and fruit orchards. A land full of culture with countless sights of 2000 years of history. “Schlögener Schlinge”, “Strudengau”, “Nibelungengau” or “Wachau” – any region along the majestic river shows a special atmosphere. Enjoy cycling along the banks of the Danube through a fantastic landscape with woods, meadows and fields. Cosy inns and the typical “Heurigen” (wine taverns) will invite you for a rest and present the famous Austrian cuisine and hospitality.

The Danube Cycle Path does not end in Vienna; going East begins the fascinating landscape of the Pannonian lowlands. The wonderful nature reserve “Au” hides one of the last primeval forests of Europe. And the latest capital within the European Union – Bratislava enchants with a lovingly restored old city centre.
